About Play And Learn (PAL)

pal2The Play-and-Learn (PAL) co-op is an on-going, year-round program for children age 18 months – 4.  Classes are run by an instructor employed by the PAA, and supported by parents and caregivers as rotating, daily class helpers. The classes are grouped by age and focus on socialization, separation, and age appropriate learning.  Classes are held on the 2nd floor of Payson House.

Classes occur year-round. From September through June, we operate on the New York City public school calendar.

There are 6 sessions of PAL classes. Please see the table below for when classes meet. Each class has 8 students in it with the head teacher and one assistant teacher for each class. Parents/caregivers may be required to assist if either the teacher or assistant teacher is absent. This will be based on a rotating call schedule provided at the beginning of the year.
