About Our Activities

The PAA runs many activities throughout the year for parents and kids, including classes, parties, trips, and more. Here is a sample of the types of activities available through the PAA.

  • Coffee Hour

The PAA holds informal gatherings complete with coffee and donuts, where the parents can talk and the kids can play. These have been held in Woodchips play area, in the Payson courtyard, and even in St. Catherine’s Park nearby. PAA coffee hours generally take place monthly or bimonthly.

  • Rummage Sale

The PAA holds approximately three rummage sales per year. The sales consist of primarily children’s clothing and equipment, as well as some housewares and men’s/women’s/maternity clothing. PAA members donate items for the sale, and the sale is open to the public. All proceeds go to help sponsor PAA events and services. Most items are $1, with some larger items up to $5-$10. Leftover donations are picked up by local charities.

The PAA rummage sales are a great place to clothe those growing kids without spending a bundle, and a great way to clear out unneeded clothing and equipment from our tiny NYC apartments. For more information email rummagesale@paanyc.org.
